Dolby Atmos Arrives in Cannes Celebrating Film Festivals (MESA)

Dolby Laboratories announced today the permanent installation of Dolby Atmos® at Cinéma L’Olympia which is used as part of Cannes’ annual Marché du Film. The theater’s new sound system will give production houses the opportunity to showcase their films in a premium audio experience. Dolby’s award-winning sound technology, Dolby Atmos transports you into the story with moving audio that fills the cinema and flows all around you, including overhead. It makes the audience feel like they’re inside the action as the sounds of people, places, things and music come alive with breath-taking realism to create a powerfully moving entertainment experience.

Dolby will continue to be Technical Partner of Festival de Cannes, responsible for delivering a world-class sound experience in multiple screens at the festival. Dolby consultants have collaborated with the festival to provide expertise and support for digital cinema and the audio technology in preparation for and throughout the 12-day festival.
