Innovation Guru to Keynote THE Summit

If you’re in the home entertainment business, you know constant innovation is a must to compete in this digital world. And at the June 14 Transforming Home Entertainment (THE) Summit in Los Angeles, one of the top innovation professionals in the world will share his ideas on how media and entertainment companies can continue to innovate.

Jeff DeGraff, professor of management and organizations at the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan will lead THE attendees in a keynote address/workshop that kicks off a full schedule of expert presentations and panel discussions designed to give home entertainment executives the tools they need to inspire and transform their teams.

DeGraff has earned the moniker “The Dean of Innovation,” working with some of the top companies in the world (including American Airlines, Coca-Cola, Microsoft, General Electric and Prudential) to apply his Competing Values Framework, a model that takes conflicting values in an organization, and integrates them successfully, fostering collaboration and growth.

Using a combination of theory and practice, he offers companies a new mindset to make innovation a reality. His practice has proven so successful, the University of Michigan even host his innovation institute (the Innovatrium) in the heart of its campus. He’s a regular columnist for “The Huffington Post,” “Psychology Today” and “Management Innovation Exchange,” has been published in “Business Week,” “Fortune,” “USA Today,” “Training+Development “and “The Wall Street Journal,” and has published several books, including “Creativity at Work,” “Leading Innovation,” and “Innovation You: Four Steps to Becoming New and Improved.”

DeGraff’s hypothesis:“The amount of innovation a company produces is inversely related to the number of PowerPoint slides or elaborate process diagrams it makes about innovation.” And in his THE keynote (“Leading Innovation: How to Jumpstart Home Entertainment’s Growth Engine”) he’ll share with attendees new ways to think about adjusting to changing consumer demands for personalized, programmable and portable entertainment experiences.

Home entertainment organizations often find that the strategies and processes they land ack the culture, competencies, and leadership practices needed to execute and sustain innovation, DeGraff argues. He’ll lend his insight into potential solutions.
