New Venue for Annual EAA Fundraiser (MESA)

It’ll be a mixture of old and new June 16, when the Entertainment AIDS Alliance (EAA) combines its 17th Visionary Awards and 14th Wine & Wisdom event into one, and brings its hugely popular industry fundraiser to a new venue. After years of hosting Wine & Wisdom at Los Angeles’ Skirball Center, the event — running from 6-11 p.m. — the June 16 event will shift to the Taglyan Cultural Complex on Vine Street in Hollywood.

EAA will use the event to honor some of its most dedicated members, with long-time leaders and co-founders Jeff Jenest and Vallery Kountze receiving Legacy Awards. Past board members Kylan Francis, Barbara Javitz, Larry Klingman, Phil McKenna, and Cathy Scott, in honor of their service in the fight against HIV and AIDS, will be honored with Visionary Awards.

As usual the event promises to be among the top networking events of the year, featuring more than 500 entertainment industry professionals and community supporters from home entertainment, TV, film, music, legal and game software companies, all enjoying food, wine, desserts, jazz by the Lori Jenaire Jazz Quartet, a silent auction, raffles and gift bags full of entertainment and lifestyle items. A $175 VIP ticket gets attendees in at 6 p.m., while $65 tickets are available for 7 p.m. entrance.

The major sponsors of the event include Paramount Pictures, HBO Home Entertainment, Tylie, Johns Byrne, Radius 60 Studios, Warner Bros., 20th Century Fox, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, Netflix, American Business Bank, Home Media Magazine, the Media & Entertainment Services Alliance (MESA) and the DVD& Blu-ray Release Report.

The event raised more than $80,000 in 2015, distributed to 14 different organizations nationwide. Current Wine sponsors include Fifty Shades of Grey, Orin Swift Cellars, Ryan Cochrane Wines, Sort This Out Cellars, Toad Hollow, and West of Temperance Winemakers.
