NAB 2017: CDSA’s Cybersecurity Program Marks a First for the NAB Show

When it comes to entertainment — and developing, managing and delivering content across every screen — there’s no industry trade event more important for those in the content business than the NAB Show.

And yet 2017’s edition will be the first time the NAB Show will see a dedicated forum for one of the industry’s most pressing problems: cybersecurity.

The Content Delivery and Security Association (CDSA) is bringing together the industry’s top cybersecurity experts to NAB at the new “Cyber Security and Content Protection Pavilion” (C3830CS at the Las Vegas Convention Center), a three-day event featuring keynotes and discussions centered directly around protecting media assets against cyber threats.

“This centrally located, cybersecurity destination at the world’s largest media and entertainment trade show will provide an interactive, educational environment where broadcasters and other media professionals can learn from the experts and engage with leading technology solutions providers,” said CDSA executive director Guy Finley.

“This is the inaugural year for this exciting industry initiative. We commend NAB for promoting greater awareness of cybersecurity and content protection issues in the media, entertainment, and technology industries. Together we can highlight ways that M&E organizations can stay ahead of the curve on new trends and developments in this critical and increasingly high-profile industry risk sector.”

Beginning Monday, April 24 at 11 a.m., and concluding Wednesday, April 26 at 4 p.m., the Cybersecurity Pavilion will see a wide range of industry experts, executives and thought leadership speaking on everything from watermarking options to protecting broadcast and OTT content from piracy threats.

Organized by CDSA — a 47-year-old nonprofit association, serving as a worldwide forum to advocate for the innovative and responsible delivery and storage of entertainment, software, and information content — the Cybersecurity Pavilion includes speakers from the Digital Watermarking Alliance, 5th Kind, DXC Technology, MediaSilo, TNT and TBS, A&E Television Networks, Turner, Kudelski Security, iStreamPlanet, Independent Security Evaluators, SDI Media, Box, SnoopWall, PwC, Kroll Cyber Security, Microsoft Azure, Arqiva, MarkLogic, 3rdi QC, Verizon Digital Media Services, OnPrem Solution Partners, Amazon Web Services, Wipro, SAS, 3 Zebra Solutions, Dolby, Teradici, the Entertainment ID Registry, Viaccess-Orca and Vobile.
