Workflow Solutions Get Attention at HITS Spring

The annual HITS Spring: The Hollywood Innovation & Technology Summit returns to Los Angeles on May 17, and one of the breakout tracks will cover all things workflow in the media and entertainment industry.

The “Solutions, Systems and Workflow” track of sessions kick off at 11 a.m. with “Survive and Thrive – The Value of the Connected Supply Chain,” with Bel Lepe, CTO and founder of Ooyala highlighting the value of investments that create and connect horizontal platforms, and how that approach to managing the content supply chain allows competitors to survive and thrive.

At 11:30 a.m., Joel Sloss, senior program manager with Microsoft Azure, will offer a primer on secure storage, burst-rendering, asset management and editorial workflows in Microsoft Azure, and will share ideas on how to get started with content workloads in the cloud, in the presentation “All-in on Cloud Production.”

Jukka Paajanen, regional innovation lead for Avanade, kicks off the afternoon portion of the breakout tracks, with “Keep Your Organization’s Focus on Creativity by Using Artificial Intelligence,” a session dedicated to looking at how AI can manage mundane and repetitive tasks, freeing up your focus for the creative aspects of your business.

And at 4:30 p.m., Shailendra Mathur, VP of architecture with Avid, will discuss how technologies from the web and cloud are enabling greater enhancement to collaborative capabilities, in the presentation “Expanding Horizons in Editorial Collaborations.”

HITS Spring expects to see several hundred senior studio technology leaders gathering for the 9th annual “reality check” on the key trends transforming the way content is being produced, distributed and consumed.

HITS Spring is produced by the Media & Entertainment Services Alliance (MESA) and the Hollywood IT Society (HITS), in association with Women in Technology: Hollywood (WiTH); the Content Delivery & Security Association (CDSA) and the Smart Content Council.
