Sony Hits CES for 49th Year, Brings Shark Group CEO to Stage (MESA)

Sony Electronics will mark its 49th year exhibiting at CES this month, and will broadcast its press conference worldwide from its Las Vegas Convention Center floor booth at 5 p.m. Jan. 6, with company CEO Ken Yoshida running the proceedings.

Sony leadership will share its latest news around developments in sensors, audio and video, and “how technology is enriching people’s lives through the delivery of emotive experiences, enabling creators to realize their dreams and contribute to society,” the company said.

“CES is the pre-eminent consumer electronics event of the year and is one of our customers’ favorite venues to experience Sony’s most advanced audio, video and next-generation products, platforms and services,” said Mike Fasulo, president and COO of Sony Electronics. “As a global entertainment company with a solid foundation in technology, Sony is continuing to pioneer new experiences that surprise and create authentic emotional connections with our customers across our film, television, music and gaming portfolios.”

Following the press event, Fasulo will be joined by Daymond John, “Shark Tank” personality, CEO of The Shark Group and FUBU and best-selling author, and Dr. Daniela Braga, CEO and founder of AI startup DefinedCrowd, for a panel discussion on the use of volumetric capture on the “Shark Tank” set, the power of diversity in innovation and business, and emerging trends in the consumer electronics space.

Additionally at CES, on Jan. 8, Sony Innovation Fund is participating in the Consumer Technology Association’s CES 2020 Match event in Las Vegas, which brings together startups, investors and corporations for two-hour speed match meetings.

Sony Electronics executives will also join two panels at the show, with communication head Cheryl Goodman participating in the Jan. 9 panel “The Road Ahead for 8K UHD,” and Lee Wills, head of talent acquisition and inclusion taking part in the Jan. 8 panel “New Innovations in Talent Pipeline Development.”
