Whip Media to Stress Importance of Consumer Insights at Smart Content Event

The explosion of direct-to-consumer offerings has also seen a major jump in media companies creating their own distribution platforms. And with that growth, data-driven decisions are becoming more critical than ever … and they have to be based on the right types of data.

That’s the message Whip Media Group’s Dave Cornella, SVP of global strategic accounts, and VP Alex von Krogh will bring to the stage March 4 during the Smart Content Summit in L.A., with the breakout session “The Impact of Consumer Insights on the Streaming Wars Content Supply Chain.”

“Today, everyone is trying to win the streaming wars by shear brute force on who can produce the most content and get it on the most platforms at any cost,” Cornella said. “With content spend growing at an unprecedented (and potentially unsustainable) pace, we need to pivot the conversation to one that is about getting the right content to the right audience at the right price.

The session will especially look at how consumer viewership and engagement data can be mined, applied and leveraged throughout the supply chain, with Cornella and von Krogh stressing that predictive and prescriptive analytics are the new world order, and that data can help content companies understand what content is most likely to succeed.
