CNET Founder, Salesforce Investor Minor to Keynote Oct. 20 M&E Day

Halsey Minor, a serial entrepreneur, the founder of CNET, and one of the initial major investors in Salesforce, will deliver the opening keynote address of the Oct. 20 Media & Entertainment Day event, being held live as a worldwide virtual event, and taking place during the all-new NAB Show New York digital experience.

His presentation — “Is Blockchain the Inevitable Future for Video Content Management?” — will kick off the main stage program for the day at 1 p.m. ET, and will examine the future implications of blockchain technology for video content management. Minor — who will be interviewed by Bob Gold, president of Bob Gold & Associates — will answer whether blockchain is an inevitable integration for the industry, cover the obstacles to widespread blockchain adoption, and will address the importance of data, AI and cloud technologies to future distribution opportunities.

Minor, CEO and founder of next-gen media and telecom infrastructure firm Live Planet, and decentralized video platform VideoCoin Network, is a technology entrepreneur whose companies have generated a reported $140 billion in cumulative value, with CNET, Salesforce, Google Voice (originally GrandCentral Communications, Inc.), Uphold, Vignette and OpenDNS among his creations and investments.

Halsey Minor is a technology founder behind some of the greatest successes in internet and enterprise computing which have anticipated “what’s next” in enterprise architecture and technology adoption. Being held from 12:30-5 p.m. ET, the virtual M&E Day event will feature a series of panel discussions and presentations covering the latest in cybersecurity and content protection (Content Protection Summit), along with changes in cloud technologies and traditional IT (Hollywood Innovation and Technology (HITS), including a collection of breakout sessions hosted by top M&E vendors, all centered around the latest solutions for — and the challenges facing — the industry in today’s global remote-work business environment.

The M&E Day event will focus on what’s next on the horizon in today’s remote-work environment, and how M&E continues to function going forward, with sessions on localization, cybersecurity, content protection, and cloud-enabled technologies.
