ContentArmor to Stress Watermarking’s New Importance at Oct. 20 M&E Day

From premium VOD to post-production happening among scattered crews, the need for forensic watermarking technology that’s seamless and easy to use (and track) has never been more crucial.

At the Oct. 20 Media & Entertainment Day, a live, worldwide virtual event, taking place during the all-new NAB Show New York digital experience, Alain Durand, CEO of content protection firm ContentArmor, will take the stage to share not only the need for the technology today, but why forensic watermarking will be of huge importance post-COVID-19.

“As our world converts to more virtual marketing events, screenings, and festivals that deliver premium online video experiences, the need to identify content has exponentially increased,” said Durand, who will present the session “Watermarking Makes it’s Mark.” “Attendees will learn what to expect from forensic watermarking and the criteria to pick the right solution.”

Most recently, ContentArmor announced it partnered up with video delivery solutions provider castLabs and cloud-based media asset management firm BitCine Technologies to provide a new virtual film festival platform being used by more 100 festivals worldwide.

The CineSend Virtual Festival platform allows film festivals to launch VOD platforms on Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire, Android TV, Tizen, and webOS, and features white-labelled branding opportunities and includes ContentArmor forensic watermarking and multi-DRM services to protect content using Widevine, PlayReady, and FairPlay Streaming DRM technologies.

ContentArmor helped develop a server-based solution that allows CineSend to deploy session-based watermarking on HLS and MPEG-DASH content, without the need for third-party libraries, the companies said.

M&E Day is sponsored by IBM Security, Microsoft Azure, SHIFT, Akamai, Cartesian, Chesapeake Systems, ContentArmor, Convergent Risks, Digital Nirvana, edgescan, EIDR, ICVR, PK, Richey May Technology Solutions, STEGA and Synamedia, and is being produced by MESA, in cooperation with NAB Show New York, and in association with the Content Delivery & Security Association (CDSA) and the Hollywood IT Society (HITS).
