Tech Entrepreneur Shelton Mercer Oct. 20 M&E Day’s Closing Keynote

Shelton Mercer, co-founder of big data and media technology company Audigent, chairman of The Mercer Advisory Group and Mercer Innovation, and CEO and co-founder of award-winning charitable social media campaign firm TwitChange and the 20:20 collective, has been announced as the closing keynote of the Oct. 20 Media & Entertainment Day event, a live, worldwide virtual event, taking place during the all-new NAB Show New York digital experience.

His keynote presentation — “Across the Nation with Innovation Acceleration” — will touch on his groundbreaking 20:20 project being incubated at Comcast/NBCUniversal, and will walk attendees through his concepts of “social mobilization” and how “leading with passion” can turn crisis into catalyst.

A celebrated philanthropist, ordained pastor and certified leadership coach, Mercer has created technology-driven audience strategies for Disney, the Jonas Brothers, Warner Bros., NBC, Sony and dozens of other entertainment brands. His TwitChange endeavor partnered with hundreds of celebrities and brands, raising millions for charity and causes via social media.

Mercer’s tenure at Lucent Technologies saw him manage a portfolio of Fortune 100 clients; he directed implementation of the a digital voice messaging network (with 150,000 users across 600 sites) for General Electric; and he’s managed international projects in EMEA, South America, Asia and Oceania, for KPMG, Marsh Inc., Johnson & Johnson, Astra Zeneca and more.

His philanthropic work includes with the Delaware Valley Association for the Education of Young Children (DVAEYC), Blueprint for a Safer Philadelphia, Stop Hunger Now, and more.

Being held from 12:30-5 p.m. ET, the virtual M&E Day event will feature a series of panel discussions and presentations covering the latest in cybersecurity and content protection (Content Protection Summit), along with changes in cloud technologies and traditional IT (Hollywood Innovation and Technology (HITS), including a collection of breakout sessions hosted by top M&E vendors, all centered around the latest solutions for — and the challenges facing — the industry in today’s global remote-work business environment.

The M&E Day event will focus on what’s next on the horizon in today’s remote-work environment, and how M&E continues to function going forward, with sessions on localization, cybersecurity, content protection, and cloud-enabled technologies.
