Microsoft Leads off M&E Day Cloud, Virtualization Sessions With Vendor Panel

The No. 1 breakout track of vendor sessions at the Oct. 20 Media & Entertainment Day will kick off with Microsoft leading a panel of experts on remote solutions in today’s environment.

The panel — “Empowering the future of Creativity, Content Operations & Experiences” — will see Jennifer Cooper, global head of media industry strategy for Microsoft, moderating a panel with Raymond Thompson, director of broadcast and media solutions marketing for Avid, and Brady Woods, VP of global account management, streaming services, for Technicolor, on how to enable remote collaboration, content production, editing and personalized experiences to deepen audience engagement.

The session will see Microsoft share use cases and best practices from its customers and partners who are making all of that possible in today’s remote environment.

The session will be the first of three in the “Cloud & Virtualization” breakout track, one of five being held at the M&E Day event a live, worldwide virtual event, taking place during the all-new NAB Show New York digital experience.

“The Game Engine Revolution” will see ICVR’s Ihar Heneralau, co-founder and CEO, and Chris Swiatek, co-founder and chief of product, offering insights into the benefits of applying game engines outside of games themselves, giving attendees examples of how platforms like Unreal and Unity are infiltrating every industry, from film to advertising, enterprise to music.

The third session in the breakout track — “Managing your Video Network Anytime, Anywhere” — will cover the benefits of Synamedia’s Video Network Cloud, a managed service for end-to-end video network functionality on any public, private or hybrid cloud, allowing media and entertainment companies to easily — and quickly — manage their video network anywhere.

Bart Van Daele, product marketing manager for Synamedia will share how his company’s service features critical including full disaster recovery on the public cloud and media processing on-prem, and how it achieves “five nines” availability for optimized experiences on any device, anywhere, empowering service providers, content owners and broadcasters alike to deliver quality services.
