Gracenote Offers New Live Sports Solution for Smart TV, Auto Platforms

Gracenote, the content services arm of Nielsen Media, has debuted a new turnkey solution geared toward consumer electronics and auto manufacturers, allowing them to offer new live sports experiences, using Gracenote Global Sports Data.

The solution — Gracenote Sports Widgets — allows device manufacturers to integrate real-time statistics, game results and live updates to home screens and auto infotainment systems, by accessing Gracenote Sports Data via plug-and-play widgets. Personalized notifications can be created to engage fans and offers them ways to navigate directly to game broadcasts or streaming on preferred home services. For connected car manufacturers, they can deliver game scores and league standings to infotainment screens.

With Gracenote Global Sports Widgets, CE companies and automakers can easily launch new sports experiences which maximize audience engagement and drive consumption while minimizing development costs and engineering resources.”

At launch, Gracenote Sports Widgets will cover the NBA, NFL, MLB and NHL, along with international football leagues including English Premier League, Germany’s Bundesliga, Ligue 1 in France, Serie A in Italy, Spain’s La Liga, Brasileirão Assaí in Brazil, Mexico’s Liga BBVA MX, along with Korean baseball league KBO. Languages include English, French, German, Spanish, Italian and Dutch. Additional coverage of other global sports leagues will be made available throughout 2021.

Gracenote Global Video Data and IDs — which power universal content search and discovery across different entertainment platforms and services — are being used to power the new solution.
