Zendesk Report Tackles Global Messaging Landscape

Customer service software firm Zendesk has released its annual “State of Messaging” report, offering exclusive research and insights from industry-leading messaging experts, covering key messaging trends that are shaping CX, with interviews from experts at Google, Twitter and more on what’s next in messaging.

The report found that 42% of people on the planet have a smartphone, 87% of smartphone owners use messaging, and that WhatsApp is by far the leading chat app, favored in 112 countries. Facebook Messenger landed a distant second, with WeChat coming in third.

The report also shares how consumers are using voice assistants for information and guidance; the state of chatbots, and their importance in certain business sectors; the rapid adoption of messaging services by companies; and more.
