MESA Member Webinar Week Ahead: March 8-12

Box will share a live demo of its platform, Wasabi will discuss the role of cloud data storage in second-generation multi-cloud strategies, and Women in Technology Hollywood (WiTH) will hold its 2021 Leadership Awards event.

Those are just a few of the online events from the MESA community the week of Feb. 22-26, according to MESA’s global member e-calendar.

Here’s a look at what’s ahead:

Monday:

• WiTH will honour the winners of the 2021 Leadership Awards, Nicole McMackin, CEO of Irvine Technology Company, Davida Johnson, managing director, UCLA Office of Advanced Research Computing — Data and Technology Solutions, Katie Hinsen, executive producer of dailies and digital intermediate for Nice Shoes, and Christina Aguilera, head of creative engineering for Amazon Studios. They were selected based on their service as technology-career role models and mentors in their communities, and for helping to empower other women to be bold leaders.

Attendees will be treated to a keynote presentation by Dr. Vivienne Ming, co-founder and CEO of Socos Labs, director of OptoCeutics, chair emeritus for StartOut, and self-described “professional mad scientist,” as well as a panel discussion https://www.withollywood.org/2021/03/01/beneficiaries-of-with-programs-take-the-stage-march-8-2 with beneficiaries of the nonprofit programs WiTH supports.

The WiTH Foundation will be donating 100 percent of all revenues from Awards sponsorships to local charity organisations that consistently deliver on the goals of the WiTH organisation, which include professional development, mentoring and networking, and community engagement. 2021 charity recipients include DIY Girls, PepUp Tech, St. Joseph Center Code Talk, STEAM: Coders and STEM Advantage.

Thursday:

• Steve Danielsson, solutions engineer for Box, will lead the live demo “5 Things You Didn’t Know You Could do With Box,” showing off new ways to ideate, automate, and collaborate, as you get acquainted with the Content Cloud — one secure platform for the entire content lifecycle, from file creation to retention.

• Wasabi’s David Friend, co-founder and CEO, and David Boland, director of product marketing, will lead the panel discussion “The Role of Cloud Data Storage in Second Generation Multi-Cloud Strategy,” where they’ll focus on how to evaluate the data foundation layer to build a successful, second generation.
