Workflow Automations, Board Spotlights on Tap for EIDR Annual Participant Meeting

Up until recently, EIDR enterprise integration has required significant preparation and investment. But with new JSON-based APIs from EIDR and The Title Registrar, it’s possible today to incorporate lightweight, script-based integrations in just a few days, covering EIDR lookup, verification, resolution, registration and modification of content.

At the April 13 EIDR Annual Participant Meeting, The Title Registrar’s CEO Curt Mayers and Sylvester Lan, web services architect, will show how simple the process has become, using either Python or JavaScript, and will share how these new capabilities can help improve the reach, scope, and quality of EIDR metadata throughout the production and supply chain.

Attendees of the event will also be treated to two EIDR “Board Spotlight” presentations: “Universal Search” and “Adoption Journey.” The first will see Jason Pena, program manager for Google, share his view on the adoption path followed as the EIDR system has been introduced across different workflows in multiple business units and functional areas. The latter will see Sarah Nix, senior director of archives and global data governance for ViacomCBS, describe the adoption path for EIDR across the newly merged corporation, starting with early adoption by Paramount, followed by Showtime and Smithsonian, and continuing on to broad evaluation across ViacomCBS media units, with a goal of extending into new growth areas like Paramount+.

For 2021 edition of the EIDR Annual Participant Meeting, the theme will revolve around adoption of EIDR across enterprises and streaming platforms, with discussions centered on ubiquitous coverage, new adoption paths, and user engagement. Studios, streaming giants, EIDR’s board and more will be on hand to celebrate what EIDR’s accomplished to date, and what’s on the horizon.
