Splunk Debuts New Security Cloud, Security Analytics for AWS

Data-to-everything platform specialist Splunk has debuted its new cloud-based security platform Splunk Security Cloud, a data-centric modern security operations offering that provides enterprise-grade security analytics, automated security operations, and integrated threat intelligence.

Splunk Security Cloud aims to give teams the ability to secure and manage multi-cloud deployments, while also adapting to new threats, by utilizing an open ecosystem, one that helps correlate data across security tools, regardless of vendor, for increased visibility. Its advanced security analytics component includes machine learning to detect and deliver insights into multi-cloud environments, and its automated security tools promises faster time to detection, investigation and response.

“At Splunk, we believe security is a data problem and data drives better decisions, providing the foundation for security analytics,” said Sendur Sellakumar, chief product officer of the company. “As the volume and complexity of data grows and customers’ digital environments get more complex, Splunk Security Cloud provides the best solutions to help customers solve their ever-evolving security challenges.”

The platform benefits from 2,500-plus Splunk partners, and its automation ecosystem includes more than 300 third-party integrations, supporting more than 2,000 operations actions, allowing customers to correlate data across disparate security tools.

“Splunk Security Cloud combines advanced security analytics, streamlined security operations and an open and thriving ecosystem, bringing together Splunk’s and our partners’ industry leading security solutions to help our customers securely embrace digital transformation and SOC modernization,” said Jane Wong, VP of security product management for Splunk.

Additionally, Splunk has also launched a new Security Analytics for Amazon Web Services (AWS) solution, geared toward smaller security teams. Available June 29 via the AWS Marketplace, it offers a more curated experience for customers that have AWS-centric cloud adoption models, leveraging centralized visibility of AWS environments to accelerate threat detection, investigation and response capabilities for security teams using smaller teams.

“Splunk Security Analytics for AWS gets up and running very quickly. The new data onboarding wizard rapidly brings AWS data into pre-built, AWS-specific Splunk security dashboards, with very little manual input required,” said beta customer Daniel Bauza, AWS security architect for Verisure.
