CPS EU: NAGRA to Talk Anti-Piracy Tool Strategies

Think of defeating content piracy like a NASCAR race: just like how a driver can’t wind without a team behind him, so too does your anti-piracy technology need people behind it who know what they’re doing.

That’s the analogy David Wurgler, senior director of business development and anti-piracy for NAGRA, will bring to the audience at the June 29 Content Protection Summit Europe (CPS EU) event, in the presentation “Content Piracy: Get Ahead in the Race.”

“I’ll provide attendees with strategic and tactical insights on what is needed to address, take on and win against pirates,” Wurgler said. “This will include an overview of the latest tools, technologies and solutions to meet the piracy challenges head on, while maximizing ROI for your organization.”

Overall team skills, coordination, efficiency and the ability to execute under demanding circumstances make all the difference in the world when utilizing anti-piracy tools, he said. IP blocking, OTT watermarking and data analytics can be combined to protect live sports and premium VOD content, but only if they’re deployed by experts.

“Attendees will come away with a clear understanding of how new anti-piracy tools can be combined and optimized (or work in combination with other tools) to protect content, providing the next generation the solutions and intelligence content owners and distributors need to protect their most valuable asset,” Wurgler said.

Content Protection Summit Europe is presented by Convergent Risks, with sponsorship by Richey May Technology Solutions, Synamedia, BuyDRM, Friend MTS, NAGRA, X Cyber Group and Xcapism Learning.
