The Kitchen Celebrates 4th Anniversary of European Sales

Localisation provider The Kitchen is getting ready to celebrate the fourth anniversary of its European sales office, helping to centralise the company’s efforts at studios in Spain, Italy, Germany, France, Russia, Turkey, Israel and more.

“Our decision to situate our European sales efforts in Madrid [more than] three years ago was a direct result of our rapid studio growth in territories worldwide and client needs in the region,” said Alexis Cardenas, VP of international sales for the group, and head of the European sales office.

“There’s no doubt our relationships with our clients has grown and flourished due to our proximity to where they are located. In non-pandemic times, we were able to quickly reach out and call, or visit, with clients almost immediately. The idea of being able to visit a studio in Istanbul, and then hop over to Greece to see a client, makes our efforts extremely productive.”

She added that the studio locations outside of Europe — in the Americas, South America, Mexico and more — have benefited from the producers, distributors, networks and studios based in Europe, thanks to increased globalisation.

“We feel refreshed, coming out of the pandemic, and are adding staff to our European sales office, due to the tremendous growth of the language localisation business worldwide,” Cardenas said. “Viewers are more conscience of what they want to watch, and with so many programming choices, and greater competition on the screen and the internet, we predict tremendous growth and more expansion into additional European countries for The Kitchen in the very near future.”
