With ‘Vivo’ Release, IDC Gives Back

With the release of Netflix’s Lin-Manuel Miranda animated musical “Vivo,” bicoastal post-production company International Digital Centre came together to give back.

When Broadway veteran Leslie Rodriguez Kritzer (“Elf,” “Beetlejuice”) was tapped to voice the audio description track, she offered to donate her fee. Leslie’s generosity inspired CEO Marcy Gilbert and IDC Audio Description department head Eric Wickstrom to match her fee several times over. COO Rosanna Marino also agreed to generously donate to this cause on behalf of IDC LA.

Wickstrom identified the Los Angeles nonprofit The Academy of Music for the Blind as the recipient, moved by their mission of “addressing the unique talents and challenges of blind youth by developing their musical, creative, cognitive, physical and social skills through education in music and the performing arts.”

Said Wickstrom, “AMB is just the perfect fit. We wanted to celebrate Lin-Manuel’s love of music by helping AMB, and in turn help young blind and low-vision music lovers achieve their goals.”

By continuing to give back to the community it serves, IDC keeps blind and low-vision users centered in the conversation.
