Content Workflow Management Forum Returns 2nd February

The fifth annual Content Workflow Management Forum — “M&E’s Premiere Localisation Event” — will be held 2nd February as a hybrid  event, bringing together the industry’s top language service providers, content creators, artificial intelligence and machine learning companies, and network executives, all to tackle the challenges facing media and entertainment, and share the latest solutions to meet them.

Attendees will hear from both main stage speakers and breakout room vendors who will share the latest around meeting increased global localisation demands, the role of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cloud-based solutions, the need for standards and workflow efficiencies, and how remote dubbing has become a mainstay for the industry.

Industry experts and technology providers will tackle the rapidly evolving localisation landscape challenges during keynote addresses, panel discussions, and sponsor demos. Content Workflow Management Forum discussion topics attendees can anticipate:

• “Localisation: The Never Ending Story”: Industry experts from across the spectrum of localisation discuss the key developments impacting the sector, from the stratospheric growth in streaming services, to technology innovations through to maintaining and encouraging new talent to enter the sector.

• “Diversity in Dubbing – Staying True to the Original Story”: Achieving the right balance of voice actors when dubbing content is critical to ensuring the integrity of the original script and in making it believable to audiences. Hear first-hand how this is being achieved and what more needs to be done to encourage new and diverse talent to enter the industry.

• “Innovation in Dubbing Technology – Friend or Foe?”: With the continued growth in new content, we see greater innovation in technologies to make the localisation process faster, more streamlined and more cost efficient. Technologies more widely used in the gaming sector are being evaluated, such as synthetic voices. New lip synch technologies which synchronise the lips of an actor on the original video with their dubbed voice are now available.

• “Machine Translation – The Rise of The Machine”: Advancements in machine translation continue to move forward and there is now a greater need than ever for post-editing skills within the localisation industry. See how these tools are being used and what the impact will be on the localisation industry in terms of resourcing, investment, training and the benefits which can be realised.

• “The Talent Crunch- Does it Exist and can it be Addressed?”: The localisation industry relies on a small pool of talent, with the best translators all used by a multitude of language service providers. Finding talent and understanding the capabilities of the people you choose to work on your titles is becoming easier with collaborative industry initiatives such as The POOOL, which provides LSP’s with a one-stop shop to find talent across multiple regions and countries and gives translators a platform to showcase their skills and experience.

The Content Workflow Management Forum is produced by MESA in association with the Audio Business Continuity Alliance, the Content Localisation Council, the Hollywood IT Society and the Smart Content Council.
