Wasabi, Vultr Partner to Dramatically Simplify, Reduce the Cost of Cloud Infrastructure

By using Wasabi storage in conjunction with Vultr compute, joint customers will be able to run web apps, big data analytics, media processing and other intensive workloads with highly predictable and simplified pricing.

Cloud computing customers that rely on hyperscalers like AWS for compute and storage often find themselves burdened by complicated pricing tiers and unpredictable fees for data access and egress that make it difficult to accurately forecast IT budget and spending. Wasabi and Vultr both remove complexity and hidden fees from their services. With the partnership between Wasabi and Vultr, customers can seamlessly transfer data at no cost between their Wasabi storage and Vultr virtual machines and bare metal servers. As a result, data managers, media creators, developers and others have a secure, high-speed, low-cost alternative for running compute intensive workloads in the cloud.

Vultr has enabled over 1.5 million customers to run applications on an elastically scalable cloud that supports virtualized cloud compute, bare metal, and managed Kubernetes in 22 locations around the globe, and growing. Meanwhile, storing data in Wasabi is faster and 80% less expensive than first-generation cloud vendors with no charges for data egress or API requests. Wasabi is designed with eleven nines (99.999999999%) of data durability and object immutability that guarantees stored objects cannot be deleted or modified by anyone. Wasabi is “hot” cloud storage, so users can shorten upload windows and data can be read in milliseconds into Vultr compute environments.

“Our friends at Wasabi see the same thing that we do – that the Big Tech clouds are dramatically overpriced and overcomplicated,” said Shane Zide, VP of Global Sales & Channel, Vultr. “Wasabi and Vultr both deliver unrivaled performance at industry-low prices. We look forward to showing Wasabi customers and partners the dramatic savings that are possible when you use Wasabi object storage together with Vultr cloud compute.”

“Wasabi and Vultr are delivering on the vision of Cloud 2.0 where best-of-breed, multi-cloud solutions come together without friction or added expense,” said Whit Jackson, VP Technology Alliances, Wasabi Technologies. “We are thrilled to be connecting our high-performance, cost-effective and secure cloud storage to Vultr’s global compute infrastructure to power workloads across all industries.”
