Whip Media Debuts Performance Tracking Solution for Subscription Streaming

M&E enterprise software platform and data provider Whip Media has debuted a new solution for streaming services to manage performance tracking and revenue for their subscription apps.

The new solution for subscription streaming apps consolidates and centralises performance data across global platforms and automates accounting processes to manage revenue, the company said. The solution addresses the potential chaos associated with managing the massive numbers of reports in different formats for the studios and distributors that manage them, avoiding the need for teams to manually process deferred revenue from annual subscriptions or redemptions of vouchers, a time-consuming and error-prone process.

“For streamers struggling to keep pace with the high-volume of reporting from direct and partner app subscriptions, Whip Media can automate these time-consuming manual processes while also improving reporting and control,” said Michael Sid, chief strategy officer for Whip Media. “Whip Media currently manages performance tracking and revenue management for more than 60 percent of VOD and EST transactions annually for the largest film studios and distributors across 1,100 plus global platforms — this is a natural extension of our business.”

The solution includes “Real-time Subscription App Reporting,” allowing for the retrieval, ingestion and normalising of reporting from partners’ and users’ own payment processors; the ability to automate financial processes, reducing royalty processing time, improving accuracy and eliminating manual processes; and the ability to easily scale, to handle the growth of app subscriptions.

Whip Media will discuss the solution during the March 10 Smart Content Summit in Los Angeles.
