Rightsline Strengthens Executive Leadership Team With New Chief Marketing, Strategy Officer Hires

Rightsline announced the appointment of Melanie Nelson as Chief Marketing Officer and Jason Cheverton as Chief Strategy Officer to its senior leadership team. Ms. Nelson, a former VP at Samsung Electronics and Sony Corporation, will lead the company’s global marketing strategy and communication programs. Mr. Cheverton, having previous leadership roles at software firms Lone Wolf Technologies and Mi9 Retail, will oversee company-wide strategic and corporate development efforts. Nelson and Cheverton will report directly to CEO Patrick Arkeveld.

“Melanie and Jason bring exceptional expertise to our leadership team that will help accelerate growth and elevate our brand recognition,” said Patrick Arkeveld, CEO of Rightsline. “Their proven records of success at both startups and global tech giants will be invaluable as we evolve and expand Rightsline’s comprehensive IP commerce solutions and global customer base. We are thrilled to welcome Melanie and Jason during this pivotal and exciting time at Rightsline.”

Before joining Rightstline as CMO, Nelson led all marketing communication programs for Samsung Semiconductor, Inc., the multi-billion-dollar hardware unit of Samsung Electronics America. Prior to being a VP at Samsung, Nelson was a member of senior leadership at Sony Corporation, responsible for all marketing within Sony’s media cloud services and new media divisions.

“Rightsline’s outstanding culture, incredible leadership, and team atmosphere are unparalleled. There is a palpable, true passion for ensuring that Rightsline is the best IP commerce platform in the industry,” said Nelson. “I am honored to work alongside this incredible team to find engaging new ways to elevate Rightsline’s success throughout our industry and promote our unique capabilities to our customers worldwide.”

Jason Cheverton joins Rightsline with 15 years of experience in operations, sales, product, and strategy for rapidly growing software companies. Cheverton will work closely with executive and functional leadership teams in his role as CSO to support company-wide strategic projects and corporate development.

“Rightsline is uniquely positioned to help customers maximize IP revenue through continued product investment and innovation,” said Cheverton. “When you combine that with our unique industry expertise and tremendous reputation within the IP-driven commerce space, there is an unbelievable opportunity for growth ahead of us. I’m excited to be a part of that journey.”

The announcement follows Rightstline’s recent acquisition of rights and royalties management company REAL Software Systems, which extends the core IP commerce services Rightsline offers and accelerates its expansion into gaming, publishing, consumer products, and life sciences, among other industries seeking to maximize the full value of their IP.
