Iron Mountain Examines Digital Costs at Entertainment Evolution Symposium
Story Highlights
At the Sept. 21 Entertainment Evolution Symposium (EES) in Los Angeles, Chris Pennington, director of energy and sustainability for Iron Mountain, will point out potential flaws in the sustainability goals some companies have set out with: sustainability is a team sport, and companies with a clear program avoid getting “picked last.” And that clear program needs to account for your digital business.
Pennington’s session — “Your Digital Business has a Physical Carbon Footprint, and it Matters More Than You May Know” — will look at ways media and entertainment industry can reduce its environmental footprint, whether sustainability is already a differentiator, and whether we can truly make progress without compromising security of our most valuable content.
The session will explore sustainability across the physical and digital realms and how companies can improve achieve leadership without compromise of security or performance; the importance of supply chains, including data centers; and the steps they can take to assess the performance of achieving their sustainability goals.
“As a platinum sponsor of EES, Iron Mountain proudly supports the M+E industry with innovative data management solutions that manage, preserve and secure content and assets across the entertainment ecosystem,” said Lisa Petrielli, VP of business and customer development for Iron Mountain.” We are a trusted partner helping our clients identify new revenue streams through digital transformation without compromising on security and leading their sustainability efforts.”
The Entertainment Evolution Symposium (EES), the annual gathering of industry innovators and thought leaders, all discussing the use of data to effectively blend physical and digital experiences across the global entertainment ecosystem, returns as an in-person event at The Skirball Cultural Center.
Presented by the Pepperdine Graziadio Business School Institute for Entertainment, Media and Sports (IEMS) and the Hollywood IT Society (HITS), the full-day symposium will be a closed-door event for audience member participation only. The event is sponsored by Iron Mountain, Signiant, Whip Media, Atos, Fortinet, FPT Software, invenioLSI, Perforce, Vision Media, and EIDR.
