BB Report: New Streaming Launches Abound in Europe

European countries saw the launch of seven new streaming services in September, while Asia got four, according to a new Multiscreen+ Platform Essentials report from media and entertainment data firm BB Media.

In Europe, Paramount+ launched in Italy with more than 8,000 hours of content, and in the U.K., A+E Networks debuted its Crime+Investigation Play SVOD service, offering a 1,000-plus hours of content.

Germany saw two launches: Handball Bundesliga (HBL) OTT and Freevee streaming, while YouSee launched in Demark, RunTime debuted in Spain, and the new streaming service SkyShowtime launched in four countries: Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.

Meanwhile in Asia, India saw two launch announcements: YuppTV Scope with a selection of TV offerings, and Raj Digital, offering a wide selection of content in south Indian languages and Hindi.

Warner Bros. Discovery and Yes combined to launch discovery+ in Israel, and Aha debuted its OTT service in Malaysia.

There were two new streaming launches in Latin America (Antel TV in Uruguay and Microcine in Chile) and two launches in the U.S. (Great American Community and Bally Sports+).
