ITS Localisation Keynote Panel Brings Global Insights

Among the highlights of the 28 February Innovation and Transformation Summit (ITS): Localisation is a must-attend keynote panel, looking at how the business is expected to shape up this year, addressing the issues of talent and capacity shortages, workflow efficiencies and the increasing role of AI and ML in localisation.

The panel — “Insights from the Global Content Community” — brings a spotlight on the new opportunities opening in localisation, including FAST and the growth in new markets and genres, and how the economic uncertainty may impact the sector. With ever-decreasing windows, multiple versions, increasing numbers of languages, and in some regions (severe) talent shortages, how are content creators and owners managing the transformation of our industry as work continues to operate on a hybrid basis? What does the industry need to do to encourage and retain talent? How is diversity and inclusion impacting organisations and their talent pool?

Moderated by Caroline Baines, senior director of client services for MESA, the panel will feature Alberto de la Puente, director of worldwide localisation for NBC Universal Media; Jan-Hendrik Hein, VP of media operations EMEA, for A+E Networks; Vanessa Lecomte, localisation operations manager for BBC Studios; and Justin Walton, head of global content operations for ITV Studios.

“I’m delighted to be moderating this session with experts from across the content industry,” Baines said. “With demand for localisation continuing to soar we will discuss how this need is being met, what efficiencies can be gained and what new opportunities lie ahead. This is not to be missed!”

MESA’s Innovation and Transformation Summit focuses exclusively on the localisation business in media and entertainment and will feature subject matter experts, academics, content creators, and their service provider partners for conference sessions discussing the latest trends in software, hardware, products and people that drive global content workflows and distribution mechanisms.

The event will be held at the Royal Garden Hotel, 2-24 Kensington High Street, London W8 4PT, as well as online in the MESAVerse, MESA’s virtual work environment for its members and communities.
