What would it look like if you had a 10-fold increase in your networking skills? Skills in networking are typically not something that people put a lot of concerted, thoughtful effort into…the “wing it” approach usually rules the day. After all, even the word “networking” brings up awkward experiences from the past for many of us!

But when you think about it, how many jobs have you gotten through your network, as opposed to applying “cold” through a website? Unfortunately, women are often at a disadvantage in the networking game with still lower numbers of women in technical fields. A recent study conducted by university researchers Sofia Bapna and Russell Funk, said “women had worse networking outcomes than men. Relative to men, women met 42% fewer new contacts, spent 48% less time talking to them, and added 25% fewer connections on LinkedIn.”

Women in Technology: Hollywood understands this challenge and invites you to attend our next event to tackle it head on! The agenda has been very deliberately designed to cause a non-linear, 10-fold breakthrough in your networking game. From the start, randomized seating introduces you to a table of other women likely not in your existing network. Your “new” network will then participate and engage in a highly interactive workshop followed by a panel discussion of experts. Then, we gather at the MESA holiday party and networking reception to put our new skills into practice!
