Terence Runge is an experienced security professional based in Austin, TX, having held positions at early stage companies as well as major Fortune 500 companies. He is currently the Head of Security at Illumio, the leader in micro-segmentation, leading security efforts across the organization with a focus on the security of Illumio products and cloud services as well as Illumio’s systems and networks.
Previously, as Vice President of Cyber Security at Blackbaud, he was responsible for the security of distributed software, managed services, and SaaS solutions used by nonprofits, foundations, corporations, education institutions, healthcare organizations, and other charitable giving entities. Terence held leadership positions at Salesforce where he led the Enterprise Security organization, at Symantec leading the Information Security Threat Response Team, and as a Security Engineer at dotcom startups Napster and IaaS provider LogicTier.
Terence’s experience includes contributions to open source and commercial enterprise security products along with Patents 9129132 and 9015792 for “Reporting and Management of Computer Systems and Data Sources”. He holds CISSP-ISSMP certification and is a member of the Central Texas Cloud Security Alliance Board of Directors, CCSF Cybersecurity Apprenticeship Program Unilateral Apprenticeship Committee, ISC2, ISACA, and the IAPP.
