WiTH Workshop

What does it take to be a successful technology professional today? For that matter, what core competencies stand out among top-performing technology teams? What are the differences between “competencies” and “skills”, and how do you effectively implement them in your teams and yourself?

Those are the topics Women in Technology Hollywood (WiTH) will tackle Dec. 4 at the Sheraton Universal in Los Angeles, when WiTH holds its workshop “Competencies for Success,” in conjunction with the Content Delivery & Security Association’s Content Protection Summit.

Erin Griffin, senior executive partner with Gartner, will kick things off sharing a dozen key competencies of highly successful technology individuals and teams, before executive search and HR recruiting personnel share their feedback on what competencies they look for in hiring searches. Smaller table discussions will see recruiters and hiring managers discuss the topic of the day, with each recruiter staying at a table for 10 minutes, before rotating to other tables.

Griffin will then be joined by Karen Lane, director of business technology and workplace solutions for Warner Bros. Entertainment, and Nina Skorus-Neely, VP of technology client solutions for Warner Bros. Entertainment Group of Companies, to discuss what those in attendance discovered, including any surprises.

The day concludes with the annual Media & Entertainment Services Alliance (MESA) holiday party.
