Sandra De Silva De La Torre,
Cinematographer & Producer

Sandra De Silva De La Torre is a Mexican Cinematographer. She was born in Paris but grew up in Mexico, where she attended a French school. Being caught up between the two cultures made her understand the diversity that exists in the world. The desire to capture, explore and create different worlds, is what drove her passion in film. She attended the National Film and Television School in the UK, upon her return to Mexico City she struggled as a minority to break through into the industry, so she decided to found Apertura, an Association of Cinematographers that helps highlight the work of female and non-bionaire behind the camera. She has worked in Ireland, Canada, London, Switzerland, India and Mexico. Her latest feature is in post-production. She produced “We vanish” Mexican short film awarded with the ariel in 2020 (MexicanOscar), and she produced and was the cinematographer of “La Inquilina” short film done remotely for the Hollywood Professional Association.
