As Vice President, Disney Media Networks Global Distribution Business Operations & Strategy, Todd Barasch plays a key role in the international sales organization, which encompasses Disney Media Distribution, providing sales strategy, business development & planning in tandem with inventory rights management of the vast library of Disney product for international television and emerging platforms (including ABC Studios, the broader ABC Television Group, Disney-ABC Cable Networks Group, Disney Channels, Freeform, Walt Disney Studios, Marvel, Pixar and Lucasfilms etc.). He is the day-to-day sales
liaison to the various producer groups supplying programming to Disney Media Distribution.

Todd oversees content management for international distribution, managing a team tasked with delivering content inventory and planning management service in line with international media distribution’s evolving business requirements (rights and music clearance, options, participation’s, residuals, windowing guidelines). Todd and his team serve as centralized source of product information, rights/availability and timely information dissemination to maximize international sales efforts. He also drives distribution strategy, library utilization and acquisition activity on behalf of the international sales organization.

Mr. Barasch came to Disney in 2000, with nearly a decade of experience in television distribution marketing and entrepreneurial online ventures.

From 1998 to 2000 he spent time working in nascent entertainment industry-related dot-coms, including serving as Marketing Director of Prior to that, in 1998, he formed a company, Amalgamated Consolidated Enterprises, with production, distribution, marketing and new media professionals dedicated to managing and creating content for broadband and convergent digital platforms.

Earlier, Mr. Barasch served as Marketing and Publicity Directory for GRB Entertainment, an independent producer and international distributor of non-fiction television programming. He established the company’s marketing department where none previously existed, worked with the president, sales department, program development, home video and show producers in the strategic planning of all promotional activities and marketing/promotion of GRB. Key among his duties were conceiving and executing strategic marketing and publicity plans for international distribution and program development.

He started his career in 1991 joining the staff of industry trade association NATPE (National Association of Television Program Executives) as an assistant. He quickly rose throught the ranks to creative services manager, involved in the strategic planning of promotional activities and the marketing and promotion of NATPE’s industry events and services. Invovled in all promotional activities on behalf of NATPE, NATPE Member Services and NATPE Educational Foundation, he also led the push to get NATPE online in 1993-94, establishing and managing the association’s web presence until he left in 1996.

Mr. Barasch received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Glassboro State College (now Rowan University, New Jersey) with a dual major concentration in Radio/TV/Film and Public Relations.
While in college, Mr. Barasch spent time as program director for the school’s radio station and interned at a local commercial radio station. He was also a freelance writer for Atlantic City Magazine as well as writing and editing student publications.

A native of Wilmington, Delaware, Mr. Barasch now resides in Topanga Canyon California with his wife and children.
