MESA’s OTT Academy Hits L.A. March 3

The afternoon of Tuesday, March 3 sees the Media & Entertainment Services Alliance (MESA) return to its supply chain roots, hosting the OTT Supply Chain Academy at the Luxe Sunset Boulevard Hotel, an event offering an intimate gathering of the thought leaders and streaming innovators who are literally transforming home entertainment.

Media companies are flexing their content muscles like never before, bringing what they own directly to consumers, and creating content distribution platforms and backbone along the way. By employing data-driven algorithms, artificial intelligence and machine learning to their direct-to-consumer offerings, content owners have the opportunity to scale their global business at an unprecedented pace, in an increasingly crowded OTT field.

In June of 2006, the first-ever Entertainment Supply Chain Academy (ESCA) conference was launched in Los Angeles, offering executives insights into the new dynamics and technologies in supply chain efficiencies, and educating content owners, supply chain professionals and retailers alike about the opportunities on the horizon. Ten years later, MESA rebranded the event THE (Transforming Home Entertainment), and today, we face an industry that has truly transmuted; where the idea of what we used to call “home entertainment” is being challenged.

Held in conjunction with EIDR’s Annual Participant Meeting https://eidr.org/conferences/2020-annual-participant-meeting/ that morning, the OTT Academy shifts away from the standards-based work that drove ESCA, with the program focusing instead on how to best serve today’s digital content end-users — through a platform approach and increasingly automated workflows — and eliminate the supply chain bottlenecks along the way.  Attendees of the 2-6 p.m. event will be treated to collaborative and interactive sessions from subject matter experts on:

  • The Streaming Wars … Engaging the Connected Consumer
  • Connecting and Nurturing the OTT Ecosystem
  • Digital Supply Chain Across the OTT Industry
  • Optimizing the OTT User Experience
  • Adapting Content to Culture
  • Driving Delivery of Global OTT

The OTT Supply Chain Academy is produced by MESA in association with the Hollywood IT Society (HITS), the Smart Content Council, and the Content Delivery & Security Association (CDSA), and is sponsored by Sony, Spherex, EIDR, the Trusted Partner Network (TPN), Bitmax, Frame.io, Pixelogic, Sohonet and Whip Media Group.
