Advanced Technology Manager – Digital Business Group

Key Responsibilities:
Build and lead an advanced tech team to investigate and bring to life innovative approaches to drive developer engagement via digital developer properties. Leverage existing resources and identify new technologies to build a deep and vibrant developer community through advocacy, evangelism, social outreach, and best-of-breed content. This role must have a deep understanding of developer technologies, and the topics, trends, problems, and challenges that motivate them, and will develop strategies for developer outreach and relationship management.
You will be working with Developers (IBM and external), marketing, and other stakeholders for key strategic areas of developer focus, including Cloud, Data, Cognitive, IoT and more.
Key Skills:
Proven management and team-building skills, WordPress, Drupal, and other web development skills; experience with developing and executing on engagement and outreach strategies; experience with instructional design and/or skills background a plus.
A positive, optimistic leader with a passion for technology; strong, collaborative leadership skills; ability to work collaboratively across a multi-disciplinary team ; a creative and innovative spirit; ability to think strategically, set priorities, manage risks, and define and communicate direction.
The candidate should be passionate about technology, including both open source and leading-edge IBM offerings, especially cloud and cognitive technologies. Candidates should have their fingers on the pulse of the technology zeitgeist: who is doing what, what’s trending, and why it matters to developers. They should be experienced in development and passionate about developer culture and communities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; deep understanding of developers and ability to leverage leading-edge technologies to develop programs and assets to engage developers and drive advocacy; solid understanding of content marketing and outreach principles; strong web development skills.
