Job Description
We will be soon be looking for a new Asset/Art (Character) Team Leader to plan and execute the asset team’s day-to-day activities, ensuring that highly adaptable digital simulations and procedural workflows, taking charge of the game asset production, and working closely with Supervisors, directors and artists to achieve the highest quality output. Managing and mentoring junior and mid-level team members, with a strong leadership style, and exceptional artistic and technical abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement the department’s technical solutions in collaboration with the Asset Supervisor and the Art Director
Supervise the work of your team
Distribute and assign plans to artists, in collaboration with the production manager and based on the inventory
Provide strong artistic and technical expertise
Address artistic notes and ensure follow up
Ensure assets are completed in a timely fashion, respecting quotas set by the production team and the supervisor.
Ensure artistic consistency between assets and client guidelines.
Submit assets for review and work closely with the team.
Should have strong communication skills and exposed to lead the client call when needed.
Qualifications
Experience as Lead Asset/Art Artist (Character) in the games industry
Strong artistic ability with a good understanding of character modelling and texturing with the game engine experience
In-depth knowledge of Maya, Max, Zbrush, Substance, adobe suites and Game Engines (Unreal/Unity).
Strong artistic skills and games asset process like hi-res, games res and LODs with Engine integration.
Should have a strong art background.
Knowledge on standard asset management and review/tracking tools, prevailing in industry. Example – Perforce, Shotgun, Jira, Slack.,
Any of the following is preferable:
Strong knowledge in Unreal or Unity, both is plus!
Having Texturing capabilities in Substance
Technical knowledge, trouble shooting, problem solving capabilities
Character Concept art creation
Worked on an AAA game title project with a proven track record.
A team player and open to discuss share and proposing creative ideas/approaches among teams and leads.
Should be adaptive and able to mould accordingly to the creative need.
