Broadcast Audio Engineer, Esports Production

As a Broadcast Engineer on the EMEA Esports Production team you are dedicated to the maintenance and iterative development of our technical esports infrastructure. You will act as part of our Engineering team to support our numerous esports broadcasts.
You will work closely with regional live production teams and our global esports partners to support both on-site, remote, and international event productions.
We are looking for engineering talent experienced with studio, transmission, and IP workflows ready to push the technical boundaries of traditional sports broadcasting to captivate and inspire esports fans worldwide. You will report to the Broadcast Engineering Manager and be based from our Adlershof, Berlin office.
As part of your role you will travel approximately 30 days per year on the road for roadshows, training, trade shows.
Responsibilities:
Monitor audio signals to detect sound-quality deviations or malfunctions
Contribute to the design and deployment of Infrastructure architecture
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair broadcast/production hardware, systems and servers
Evaluate new technology and industry trends
Work varied schedules, nights, weekends, and/or holidays
Required Qualifications:
3+ years of broadcast experience
knowledge of switchers, audio boards, ingest, playback, and transmission systems
Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complex electronic, computer based, optical and mechanical broadcasting systems
understanding of video/audio encoding; formats, protocols and best practices
Ability to provide constructive feedback around practices, tools, and methods related to production, broadcast and post-production
Experience following engineering best practices within your team, including design reviews, standards implementation, automation reviews, tool improvements, source control management, and testing
Desired Qualifications:
Outstanding problem solving and critical thinking skills
Experience working on a team developing large systems from scratch
Experience with audio consoles and their support
