Director, Business Models and Monetization

The Business Models and Monetization team plays a critical role in driving long-term business growth by maximizing value-capture across the entire SAP product portfolio, accelerating customers’ transition to the cloud, and unlocking the transformative power of AI. In close partnership with Engineering, Marketing, Finance, and Commercialization teams, we design business models and define monetization strategies to expand revenue, grow share, accelerate cloud shift, and facilitate cross-sell.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As Director, Business Models and Monetization, you will be responsible for the following areas:
Design business models and the associated pricing and packaging strategy for key product categories to grow revenue and share
Define the monetization strategy across different solution areas to facilitate cross-sell and grow average revenue per customer
Define commercial licensing strategies that accelerate the shift from on-premises software to cloud to grow customer lifetime value
Innovate monetization approach to motivate customer adoption and usage, not just purchase
Continually evaluate, learn, and adjust monetization strategy through a data-driven approach that draws on competitive analysis, market research, sales insights, and financial performance
Present, influence, and align executives and the broader organization through cross-functional collaboration
EXPERIENCE & SKILLSET
7+ years of experience in pricing/monetization, economics, strategy, and/or licensing in the commercial cloud applications and services space
Proven experience developing creative solutions to complex business problems
Ability to build trusted relationships across a large organization and influence a diverse set of stakeholders
Ability to breakdown and navigate complex topics through effective presentation and storytelling to secure alignment
Growth mindset and creative problem solver who thrives in an ever-changing environment
Exceptional written and verbal communication, particularly with executive audiences
Undergraduate Degree required; MBA preferred
Fluent in English
