The Role

We seek an experienced Engineering Manager in Data Engineering to join the Data Platform team and help us build a high-quality, world-class scalable, and efficient data platform. Key Responsibilities

Responsible for leading, supporting, and managing the software and data engineers team.
Ensure that the data platform is designed and implemented to meet the organization’s current and future needs.
Responsible for building, monitoring and operating the platform to ensure that it is scalable, reliable, and high performant
Responsible for ensuring that the platform is designed to maintain data quality and integrity, even in the face of failures or errors
Provide guidance and support to the team on technical issues and challenges.
Overseeing the development and roadmap of the data platform, including the selection of technologies, design, and implementation of the architecture, integration of data sources and sinks
Work closely with other teams such as data science, product development, DevOps, and operations to ensure that the data platform is aligned with the overall goals and objectives of the company
Responsible for hiring and developing talent within the data platform team

Who you are

You have 3+ years of experience in technical leadership positions in software engineering.
Experienced with operating critical, scalable, and reliable real-time processing systems
Strong technical background in software development, streaming technologies, data engineering, and big data technologies (such as Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, Delta Lakes, etc.)
Familiar with storage technologies (such as MongoDB, Druid, Neo4j, etc.)
Possess excellent leadership and management skills – able to lead, motivate and manage a team of engineers effectively.
Able to identify and prioritize the organization’s needs, create a roadmap, and make sound decisions to achieve the team’s goals
Strong project management skills include planning, executing, and monitoring projects.
Able to prioritize tasks, delegate responsibilities, and ensure that deliverables meet quality standards
Encourage their team to develop their skills and knowledge, provide training and mentorship opportunities, and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Adept at problem-solving and troubleshooting
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
Familiar with cloud computing such as AWS, GCP
