Project Manager
CBS Interactive
The CBS Television Distribution group at CBS Interactive creates video-based desktop, mobile, and app experiences for our syndicated television brands, including: Entertainment Tonight, Inside Edition, Rachael Ray, Doctor Phil, and The Doctors. The team works across broadcast and digital to deliver premium video, social, and mobile experiences.
As we expand our business, we need a Project Manager (Scrum Master) to be our guiding star. Our ideal candidate can lead a distributed project team from start to finish. You know what it takes to manage large and complex projects, involving multiple stakeholders and a diverse team of collaborators. You have a mastery of both agile and traditional frameworks know when to use each for the best results. Your communication skills give new meaning to the word “transparency” and you’re not afraid to crack the whip when deliverables start to slip. You speak the language of aesthetics to designers, code to programmers, and results to stakeholders. Above all, you deliver your projects on time, on budget, and on target.
Responsibilities:
Scope project details
Organize project teams and estimate timeframes for deliverables
Manage and document daily stand-ups
Build/manage project schedule
Communicate status internally and externally across multiple departments and stakeholders
Identify blockers and resolve issues
Mentor junior product and project managers
Schedule and lead calls
Provide daily/weekly progress updates
Revise schedule based on workflow and communicate new revisions to wider team
Aid in our transition to a more agile/scrum development process
Must have a positive, flexible, and “get-it-done” attitude while managing change and devising options/solutions
QUALIFICATIONS:
2-4 years experience in digital media, content development, or related fields
Experience with online/mobile product and project management
Ability to create project schedules and scrum artifacts
Ability to operate independently and decisively, work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously (should have extensive experience releasing multiple products at once and project management of each) in a fast, round-the-clock, results-oriented environment
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to hold and conduct meetings in a time efficient manner resulting in desired outcome.
Ability to multi-task, pivot, and change focus when necessary
Solid understanding of design and development processes, methods, and principles
Have a proactive, efficient, and resourceful approach
Good writing and presentation skills
Ability to thrive in a creative, cross-functional team, and deadline-driven environment
Minimum of a BA required
Certified Scrum Master
Must successfully pass a background check
Preferred:
Knowledge of advertising concepts (traditional and/or online)
Deep experience with video
Familiarity with agile/scrum product development lifecycle
Experience working with content management systems
Basic proficiency with graphic design software, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Acrobat Basic familiarity with general Flash, HTML, JavaScript, XML, Ajax, PHP capabilities (do not need to be able to code, but a general understanding of what each can do, etc.)
Experience with electronic file organization on mixed PC/MAC network Experience with Salesforce PMP Coursework or Certification table
