Senior Data Analyst
PacketFabric
THE ROLE:
The senior data analyst role at PacketFabric is to manage the implementation and design of a data analytics platform. As the data manager you will work closely with Engineering, and business owners to design and develop reporting and business intelligence systems. The data you will work with will come from a variety of internal and external sources in a variety of formats. You will have the opportunity to build tooling that standardizes access and visibility of this data. This is a role that involves various tasks necessitating data required for business strategy, research and day-to-day business activities. This role reports directly to the Director of Product for Business Systems.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
Designing, developing, and modifying data infrastructure to accelerate the processes of data analysis and reporting
Reviewing presentations, manuscripts, graphs, and tables to ensure accuracy and quality
Ensuring data management planes are scalable and efficient
Writing SQL scripts and working with a variety of data management tools
Integrating new technologies and newly developed systems into data standards and structures
Evaluating the design, selection, and implementation of database changes by comparing them with business requirements and design documents
Assessing system performance and making recommendations for hardware, software, and data storage improvements
Providing training and documentation on using data analysis tooling

Requirements
The individual who will excel in this role might have a CS degree, definitely has a solid understanding of software engineering, data visualization tooling and databases, and naturally gravitate towards planning and creating amazing products.
Ability to work individually and in a matrixed environment
Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
Familiarity with a variety of visualization tool such as Tableau and Google Data Studio
Ability to work with a variety of database types including SQL, NOSQL, graph etc.
Familiarity with and working experience with at least one programming language
Excellent communication skills to translate complex problems using non-technical terms
Ability to build positive working relationships with employees at all levels within the organization
Excellent time management skills and the ability to work towards meeting multiple deadlines simultaneously
Ability to effectively work with minimal supervision
Proven ability to work with a virtual/remote team with effective use of collaboration tools such as Slack, Jira, Zoom, etc.
Experience with business systems applications and data structures i.e.Salesforce, Oracle/NetSuite,
Ability to analyze, interpret, and organize large amounts of data
In-depth understanding of modern database and information technologies
5+ years in data management, data analysis or other data administration functions including collection and distribution.
