Senior Data Engineer – Marketing Analytics

We ingest and integrate huge volumes of disparate data from a variety of advertising technology platforms with internal sources. Our marketing strategies, tactics and external advertising platforms are all evolving at a rapid pace. This requires rapid innovation in large scale data pipeline design & development to ensure critical datasets are made available, well audited and normalized for our unique analytical needs.

What You Will Do:

  • Build scalable/reliable/high quality data products to enable impactful descriptive analysis and predictive models
  • Integrate variety of internal/external (via API’s) real-time and batch data sources, using best of breed tools (in house & external) such as Hadoop, Hive, Pig and Spark
  • Ensure delivery of critical data with expected data quality in a rapid, reliable manner following “lean startup” and Minimum Viable Product (MVP) principles
  • Actively explore opportunities to acquire & integrate new data sources to expand breadth & depth of analysis
  • Innovate methods to build more robust data pipelines & contribute to internal frameworks & tool expansion
  • Influence cross-functional team of business stakeholders, engineers and team members to derive maximum value from data

Who You Are:

  • You are passionate about the Netflix product
  • Are proficient in at least one programming language (Java, Scala, C++) and comfortable working in a variety of tech stacks
  • Expert at data processing with a strong understanding on how it’s used to drive business value
  • You have a curious, learning mindset to understand and stay ahead of the rapid business & tech innovation going on around you
  • You are a data geek & a quant able to hold your own in discussions on data, metrics and algorithms
  • You can thrive in ambiguity, love fast pace with a strong bias towards action
  • You are detail oriented and can make pragmatic design trade-offs based on business context and time-to-market needs
  • Have exposure to building web/mobile apps and are familiar with software engineering principles
