The Opportunity:
OpenText is looking for the right person to define and lead the next generation OpenText Digital Media products as part of the Customer Experience Management (CEM) product group. The Product Manager develops product strategy, drives the definition and the delivery of digital media products, applications and cloud services at OpenText. She/he works closely with the go-to-market team to ensure the product roadmap can meet the requirements of the business plan and can be successfully rolled out.
As part of our agile, iterative development model (IDP) he/she works with the product design group to ensure excellent user experience. In conjunction with engineering, the Product Manager defines the development path and priorities and is responsible for on time product delivery while ensuring that overarching product goals such as stability and performance are met. This includes documentation and setup of logistics such as release engineering.
Strong emphasis is placed on customer interaction and roll-out activities such as to Pre-sales, Global Services, Learning Services, the Support organization, and key partners, in order to produce the repeatable services and business content necessary for a successful launch and long-term growth of the solution. The Product Manager assists Marketing activities and analyst relations by providing domain knowledge, presentations and demonstrations.

Planning, implementing and maintaining roadmap strategy and scheduling

Developing solution specifications, collaborate with engineering and lead the extended project team through the OpenText Product Management methodology for all development projects, releases and cloud service updates;

Collaborating with other CEM and OpenText Product Managers to coordinate product features and go to market activities for overall product release strategy and planning;

Collecting and prioritize solution requirements (from go-to-market teams, customers, competitors, partners, industry analysts, sales and R&D);
-
Working with the product design group to develop customer use cases, personas and scenarios, as well as user interface design
-
Maintaining day to day contact with the software development group to refine and revise product specifications and implementation details
-
Providing input to QA for creation of test plans and certification criteria
-
Assisting the documentation group in developing released documentation
-
Assisting education services group in developing a training program to educate customers and Open Text internal audiences on the details of the solutions
- Defining demo scenarios, support Technical Marketing in setting up demo environments
-
Assisting program managers and marketing to execute ‘go to market’ plans including packaging, pricing, collateral, events and lead-generation programs
- Working with key customers to acquire and respond to product feedback for future product releases, and communicate roadmap details.
- Understanding product competitors and support development of competitive responses for sales and marketing.
- Managing full product life cycles including end of life and product retirement programs as appropriate.
- Analysing and assist in the development of potential partner relationships that will help drive growth for the product or service;
- Contributing to and champion best practices, toolkits, and standards, fostering a customer-centered culture;
- Performing sales support activities including product demonstrations, proof of concept development, presentations.
- Occasionally serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on services engagements
What it takes:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a Computer Science or related field;
- Experience in defining and managing digital media solutions, either through product management or similar activities;
- Strong customer orientation and comfortable in sales situations, proven through former activities;
- More than 5 years experience and demonstrated competence in digital asset management, digital media technology, workflow, user experience platform technologies and user experience architecture;
- Recent experience in development of applications using modern HTML5/CSS/Javascript is mandatory;
- Experience or familiarity with the market features of competing solutions (Adobe AEM/DAM, ADAM Software, Widen, NorthPlains, Levels Beyond, or similar).
- Experience implementing and Cloud-based application on a commercial cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Rackspace, etc.)
- Experience with media delivery services, including CDNs (e.g. Akamai, EdgeCast) and media distribution services (e.g. thePlatform, Brightcove, YouTube)
- Strong experience in DAM or CEM solutions in general, especially in Retail, Financial Services, CPG or B2B applications
- Experience with the SAP/hybris Commerce and Marketing applications is ideal
- Ability to handle large-scale project management for concurrent initiatives
- Skilled in presentations and discussions with business and technical staff
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle process and methodologies
- Strong communication and presentation skills in English language, ideally German as well
- Willingness to travel globally, approximately 30%
