Sr. Software Development Manager, AWS Console & UX

The Sr. Soft Development Manager will lead engineering initiatives for the AWS management console including quick starts for customer onboarding, new cross-service experiences such as hubs and wizards, widgets for customer dashboards, AWS mobile application, and AWS resource group and tag editors.

We’re looking for a leader who has the engineering experience to design and operate customer facing enterprise products at cloud scale. This leader will lead software and web development engineers and must be able to think big and innovate and, at the same time, dive deep into the details on operations and engineering. We need technical, detail-oriented leaders who can build and grow organizations. We’re also looking for someone who shares our belief that through a combination of smart engineering and scale we can achieve highly reliable and scalable services that can also offer an easy to use customer experience.

In addition to a strong understanding of designing and operating cloud infrastructure systems, the leader will need to excel at hiring and mentoring software development engineers. They will need to work well with product management and UX designers to build and deliver the best user experience for our customers.

A solid understanding of engineering design attributes that contribute to world-class user experience is a big plus.


• 5+ years’ experience in software development
• 3+ years managing teams of engineers
• 3+ years of experience building and operating enterprise-grade infrastructure
• 2+ years managing end-user facing enterprise applications and/or tools


• Experience in cloud infrastructure
• Strong experience in agile development, testing and deployment processes
• Proven track record of high-scale hiring and talent management on teams of multiple disciplines
• Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
• Demonstrated ops excellence
• Ability to thrive in a startup-like environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proven track record of being a strong mentor and coach
