About this opportunity
As a Transmission Controller you are responsible for monitoring live transmission feeds across multiple channels in a 24/7 environment, ensuring all channels maintain an on-air presence at all times.
This is a unique role within the Broadcast industry with little or no precedent elsewhere within the industry. You can’t train for it at university. You don’t need a degree. You just need a can-do attitude, attention to detail and the ability to work for extended periods to a high standard. If you think this role is for you, we would love to hear from you!
What you will do
Ensure all TV schedules are ready for broadcast and monitor channels & streams ensuring output is accurate and that planned schedules are delivered as intended
Operate computerised single and multi-channel Broadcast equipment, reacting quickly and appropriately to on-air incidents
Be a point of contact for late commercial, promotion, interstitial and programme schedule changes
To be aware of and able to deploy the Disaster Recovery plans where necessary and be prepared to make changes at the last minute, as required.
Ensure standby material is at hand for matters of emergency or equipment failure.
Our Live Services are run 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. Staff work carefully planned rota patterns to cover this which vary from one area to another dependent upon operational needs. All areas include night working.
You will bring:
Experience in a technically driven environment where excellent customer service is critical
Ability to remain calm in a pressurised situation with strong organisation skills
Excellent attention to detail and a flexible approach
Media technical knowledge and experience is desirable but not essential
