Level 3 Engineer (Professional Services)

T2 Computing

The T2 Professional Services team is looking for a highly motivated Level 3 Engineer to join our Professional Services Team. The ideal applicant will be self-motivated, well organized, articulate and a team player. The Tier 3 Engineer is responsible for providing ongoing maintenance to our ever expanding M&E client base, many of whom are Fortune 500 companies.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES
• Address software and hardware service calls from support customers
• Perform on-site assessments of client facilities and workflows
• Create detailed hardware and workflow topologies
• Creating site survey documentation
• Architect and deploy hardware and software solutions
• Maintain client relations through partnership with sales engineers and account executives
• Provide technical assistance to Level 1 & 2 engineers and support escalations

ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Be senior point of escalation for support tickets
• Maintain a flexible attitude towards troubleshooting/remediation
• Provide superior technical hardware and software support to clients
• Maintain proficiency and certifications with supported hardware, software and workflows
• Provide training and mentorship to Level 1 & 2 engineers
• Creation and maintenance of Best Practice/Process documentation

COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE
• 5+ years experience working as a Level 3 Engineer primarily in the media and entertainment industry
• 5+ years experience deploying and maintaining enterprise storage systems (Xsan, StorNext, Isilon, Avid,
Hitachi, Quantum, NetApp etc.)
• 5+ years experience working with fibre and ethernet networks (Cisco, HP, QLogic, Brocade, etc.)
• Thorough knowledge of OSX Server, Linux and Windows server operating systems
• Familiarity with NLE environments (Avid, FCP, Premiere) and editorial workflows
• Familiarity with media asset management systems (CatDV, Primestream, Levels Beyond)
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software issues in a timely manner
• Business focused with an understanding of the creative process
• Excellent customer management skills
• Excellent straightforward communication skills (verbal and written)
• Project management skills are an added advantage
