Senior Designer

Work with Designers, Artists, and Creative Directors to develop highly visually creative designs by applying an extensive knowledge of design techniques and design software and hardware. Coordinate and guide group creative processes to complete complex design projects.

Provide artistic direction to generate inspirational, conceptual and creative ideas within the Design team. Conceptualize and originate design briefs, and execute the design work for 2D and 3D animation and Motion Graphics. Work with the Creative Director and fellow designers to provide and develop design solutions for clients.

Create, design and animate where necessary, in collaboration with others or individually to suit the task at hand. Maintain contact with clients throughout the project to ensure the delivery of results that meet and exceed expectations. Present concepts and design ideas to the Mill team, listening to feedback and making recommendations where appropriate. Participate in weekly meetings with the Creative Director and Senior Designers.
Requirements

Key areas of responsibility:
Supporting the Creative Director, internal and external Directors with the design department on main projects. This includes understanding and interpreting briefs, producing relevant creative solutions to a wide variety of Clients, and outputs, from video bumpers through to large scale creative campaigns.
Occasionally picking up smaller projects and working on these with little support from the Lead Creatives.
Supporting Art Directors, Creative Directors and the Head of Motion Graphics on pitches.
Maintaining a clear creative voice throughout a project’s lifespan.

Work closely with the head of Mill Studio and the Creative Director and the Talent Manager, as well as other departments, to resource and develop the design department to become an award winning creative studio.

Key skills, knowledge and experience:

A multidisciplinary, experienced and considered portfolio of work.
Adobe creative suite proficiency – Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and After Effects.
Strong communication skills.
Excellent presentation skills.
Strong, proven management and team leading skills.

A desire to continually develop and discover new techniques and to work collaboratively with fellow colleagues.
