Blu-ray: All The Marketing Hallmarks Of A Hollywood Blockbuster

These days, marketers of Hollywood films routinely look for increased awareness from non-traditional sources, including news coverage of the marketing campaigns themselves in The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. Now Blu-ray is receiving the marketing-as-news treatment from both papers.

In a Dec. 13 piece, the Times details how price cuts on Blu-ray hardware have the format shaping up to be one of the holiday season’s few luminaries at retail. The Journal covers similar ground in a piece today about studios’ Blu-ray marketing tactics.
