THE Summit Sees Experts Tackle Digital Supply Chain

There are plenty of highlights on the agenda for the June 14 Transforming Home Entertainment (THE) Summit in Los Angeles, but for those looking for the latest word on digital delivery, look no further than the midday “Developing a New Digital Entertainment Supply Chain” panel.

A host of experts from all corners of the industry will tackle how they’re handling today’s ever-broadening number of digital entertainment channels, especially considering there’s no single distribution standard for them to work with.

Home entertainment operations executives must work more closely than ever with their technology partners, to optimize efficiencies of their supply chains to infinitely and immediately scale their workflows — both internally and externally — to react to new retail opportunities.

Traditional divisional silos are being challenged to work more closely together; metadata standards are being developed and implemented; and distribution partners are being drawn earlier into the system development process. The end result (hopefully) is a new-age home entertainment environment that provides consumers with a what they want, where they want, when they want experience that content holders can still afford to develop and deliver.

The panel, moderated by Christy King, strategic consultant for the Media & Entertainment Services Alliance (MESA), features Michael Jeffrey, VP of market solutions for Rovi; Andy Manidis, VP of client solutions for Deluxe Entertainment Services Group; Chuck Parker, CEO and executive chairman of Sohonet; Juan Reyes, chief innovation officer for My Eye Media; Thomas Stilling, VP of global enterprise operations for 20th Century Fox; and David Sugg, executive director of technical solutions architecture for Warner Bros.

Immediately following the panel, Stilling will present attendees with his presentation, “Transformative Innovation: Structure and Metrics Will Set Us Free,” which looks at how a major Hollywood studio designs a strategy for their teams to operate within a new culture that embraces change.
