New Titles on Deck for Dolby Cinema Locations (MESA)

Dolby has announced five new titles to be shown at Dolby Cinema locations around the globe. “This upcoming slate of impressive Dolby Cinema titles reaffirms our relationship with Hollywood studios. We aim to bring compelling films to Dolby Cinema locations year-round and believe these are powerful additions to achieve that goal,” said Doug Darrow, Senior Vice President, Cinema Business Group, Dolby Laboratories. “We are excited to curate special Dolby Cinema experiences to transport audiences into worlds packed with thrilling action-adventure, romantic singing and dancing, and mystical fantasy creatures.”

Dolby Cinema, featuring Dolby Vision™ and Dolby Atmos®, is a premium cinema offering for exhibitors and moviegoers that combines spectacular image and sound technologies with inspired design to make every visit a completely captivating cinematic event.

The titles include Lionsgate’s Deepwater Horizon, due out September 30, 2016; Twentieth Century Fox’s Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, due out September 30, 2016; Sony Pictures’ Inferno, due out October 28, 2016; Lionsgate’s La La Land, due out December 16, 2016; and Legendary/Universal Pictures’ The Great Wall, due out February 17, 2017.

To date, 56 Dolby Cinema titles have been released or announced. Dolby Cinema enables richer and more detailed storytelling through Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. The Dolby Vision projection system, which uses state-of-the-art optics and image processing, delivers high dynamic range with enhanced color technology and a contrast ratio that far exceeds that of any other image technology on the market today.

The result is a dramatically different viewing experience that presents strikingly vivid and realistic images, making viewers feel like they are inside the movie’s world.
