Prime Focus Technologies’ T Shobhana Wins Top Award for Women in Business (MESA)

T Shobhana, Vice President and Head of Global Marketing and Communications for Prime Focus Technologies, was recognized among the top female executives worldwide at the 13th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business. Shobhana won Gold in the category Executive of the Year (Asia, Australia & New Zealand Region). Accepting the award, Shobhana said, “this recognition is for PFT and its leadership’s openness to challenging conventions and transforming thinking even in the sphere of global marketing and communications.” High impact Go-To-Market (GTM) campaigns which she led, namely ‘DigitalNext,’ and ‘Be Bold. Take The Leap.,’ and her contribution towards building a sound marketing program for PFT with measurable outcomes, came in for special praise by the jury and tilted the ‘Gold’ decision in her favor.

The Stevie® Awards for Women in Business are the world’s preeminent business awards for female entrepreneurs, executives, employees and the organizations they run. 2016 Stevie winners were announced on November 18 in New York. Shobhana received the award in a glittering ceremony held at the Marriott Marquis Hotel, New York. Thousands of people around the world watched the Livestream of the awards presentations, and the live ‘red carpet’ pre-show via Facebook Live.

“This year’s Stevie Awards for Women in Business received more than 1,400 entries from individuals and organizations from 22 nations. More than 160 professionals around the world participated in the judging process in September – October. The average scores of preliminary judges determined the Finalists. The Gold, Silver and Bronze Stevie Award placements were determined by the members of five final judging committees in late October”, said Michael Gallagher, President, The Stevie Awards.

Many of the world’s largest and most famous companies have won Stevie Awards. This year the winners were from organizations like Dell EMC, BMC Software, Tourism New Zealand, AT&T, Thomson Reuters, Philips, Wells Fargo, Mindtree, MIT and Red Hat, among others.

Since 2002, the Gold Stevie Award has been conferred for achievement in business to organizations and individuals in more than 60 nations. The name Stevie is taken from the name Stephen, which is derived from the Greek language for ‘crowned’. The crystal pyramid held aloft by Stevie represents the hierarchy of human needs, a system often represented as a pyramid that was developed in the 1960s by psychologist Abraham Maslow, who observed that after their basic needs are met, human beings seek the esteem of their peers.
