Finland’s Aalto Studios Expands with Avid to Give Students Access to Industry-leading Production Tools (MESA)

Avid announced that Aalto Studios, the audiovisual R&D center at Finland’s University of Art and Design Helsinki, has broadened its investment in Avid solutions to give students access to cutting-edge technology. “We are very pleased to continue our successful relationship with Aalto Studios,” said Michael Bohlin, Nordic Audio Manager at Avid. “With its new state-of-the-art software-defined storage and audio mixing console infrastructure in place, as well as our long-term support and maintenance, this major Avid customer will be better able to educate future generations, and in doing so will help to build and shape the Avid user community in the Nordics.”
Owned by Aalto University, Aalto Studios also serves other universities, research institutions and companies, with a special focus on cross-media content production and practice-based research, spanning film, TV, games, VR/AR, and new media. As part of a leading Finnish education facility, Aalto Studios needed to upgrade its aging infrastructure with cutting-edge technology in order to educate future generations of media professionals. As part of its ongoing renovations, it decided to expand its investment in Avid’s comprehensive media creation tools and workflow solutions with a new audio post and mixing workflow powered by the MediaCentral® Platform, the industry’s most open, tightly integrated and efficient platform designed for media.
